I’m Lulu Wild and welcome to my world, The Diary of a Wild Child, where you’ll see bits and pieces of my life, my travels, my favourite products, sneak peeks of cool collabs and launches, and plenty of my home, one of the most instagrammable places in Birmingham if I do say so myself. I’m a self-confessed foodie with an insatiable appetite, and here you will find the tales of all of my culinary adventures!
The Diary of a Wild Child is my happy place where I love to share all about me, bringing you along for the ride! Lulu’s is a place where dreaming big is always encouraged, and following your heart is too. I hope that sharing parts of my life and journey can somehow inspire you to live out your own dreams. It’s an open journal to you, and I always love having you come by.
People keep asking me where to find an instagrammable restaurant in Birmingham that tastes as good as it looks. I might be biased, but I think I have the answer. My adventure lives in Birmingham city centre, in a canalside corner called Brindleyplace, at Unit 7 & 8 The Waters Edge to be exact, and every inch of it was made to be photographed.
I was born to roam free and can be found where the wild things are; a place of liberty, a place of shamelessness. It can take a split second or a lifetime to find it, but once you do, you’ll be free. There’s a wild thing that exists in all of us. It lives in our passions and the people we love. Lulu Wild’s aim is to help you to not be afraid of it, but to become it. It’s time for you to get wild with me in my new venue, and I’m here to tell you all about it. With the help of a few friends and an artistic vision, we have filled our space with dry-ice cocktails, boundless bubbles, murals and neon, and the kind of entertainment your camera roll will thank you for.
Taking inspiration from the beating heart of culinary China, I want to give you an authentic dining experience full of sensational thrills, combining the warmth and intimacy of hospitality and entertainment with flavoursome Chinese-inspired cuisine. Even if you are eating alone at Lulu’s, you are never alone. We bond together as new friends, and we’re bound to stay together as lifelong friends.
On entry you can explore the sort of interiors that instagrammable restaurants in Birmingham are measured against: murals, foliage and low-lit corners that photograph beautifully. Order a dry-ice cocktail and watch the fog roll over the glass before you take a sip. Then settle in for delicate Chinese dishes while the city centre rushes past outside. Our cocktail bar is the sort of place where the camera comes out before the first drink does.
In our home, we serve up a delectable selection of dim sum, a traditional Chinese meal made up of small plates of dumplings believed to have originated in southern China’s Guangdong region before eventually making their way to Hong Kong. From our starters, we have hand-picked a range of plates including our Classic Steamed Dim Sum, Scallop and Prawn Shui Mai, Prawn and Chive Dumpling and Wild Mushroom Dumpling with Coriander.
Once inside, lights will guide you upstairs. Here you will pass murals, foliage and a centre-staged grand piano, easily the most photographed spot in the restaurant. You have left the fine dining room serving contemporary yet traditional Chinese dishes, and you have stepped into the bright, extravagant feel of downtown China. Here you’ll be able to dance the night away, eat until your heart’s content, and find yourself continuously entertained. From an intimate meal for two to a big night out for your gal pal’s birthday, I would love to be a part of your fabulous evening!
